This exhibition Floral Bright has been created by Larissa Perkin, an Artist who resides in South Gippsland, where the colours of nature inspire her.

This collection has come together from her love of flowers, their bold shapes and how she can translate that to her canvas.

Larissa’s painting journey began as a teenager, experimenting in oils, enjoying private lessons with various artists, focusing on still life and plein-air painting in the Yarra Valley before working life took over.

During Covid she rediscovered her passion for painting, this time experimenting in acrylics, Larissa found she was able to achieve quicker and more enjoyable results. During this time she created Blue Loft Art, through this outlet she has sold many pieces and has enjoyed sharing her work with a wider community.

Larissa loves creating and watching the process unfold as she begins with a colourful background, then blends and creates shapes of flowers and scenery from beautiful Sandy Point and surroundings. 

Her art style is bold and colourful, almost in the vein of the impressionist style, with slight abstract undertones, using a minimal palette to create gorgeous colours to reflect what she sees around her. 

Larissa’s first ever exhibition was at the Little Oberon Cafe in Fish Creek. She has also had stalls at the Makers Market at Meeniyan and an exhibition at Stockyard Gallery in Foster last year. Larissa hopes you enjoy viewing this exhibition as much as she has enjoyed creating it.
