My subject reflects the natural environment of where I happen to be and what I see in it that has attracted my attention. This is when I am happiest and feel awe at the diversity of light, shape, colour and texture of the nature around me. I use photographic reference and for that reason my camera is a much-valued tool. Hence, in this exhibition of my latest works you see interpretations from nature that have caught my attention and is now being conveyed to you

For me, creating is about the process and the constant problem solving to achieve the outcome that I see in my mind. The challenge can be very frustrating but always satisfying.

From my perspective, when the outcome is viewed, the viewer either likes what they see or not – and that it OK with me.

Everyone is free to interpret the images for themselves. It is something that we all do.

In Insights, my fascination with techniques and the combination of mediums is reflected in this body of work. Here it is with gouache and charcoal, acrylic paint and Posca pen, watercolour and graphite. 

It’s a very curious thing to be an artist.
